I need somebody to take care of my mom for a day (around 9am - 6pm) and when I search online I saw that the market rate is about ~$30/hour. I want to know if it's really this expensive. Thanks everybody!
Hi Ben, I would think $30 is on the pricey end. From what I know, I believe the normal rate for caregivers is $25 - $28 per hour.
However, it would also depends on what support you require the caregiver to help with, such as whether it is basic needs like showering or more skilled procedures like wound care.
If more complex help is needed, a private nurse could be better suited. They would definitely then be priced higher.
